@X0FDescription:  @X0BAllows leaving a message to another person for them to read at a
@X0F              @X0Blater date.

@X0FFull Screen
@X0FEditor:       @X0BAfter selecting @X0C(E)@X0B, you will be asked if you want to use the
@X0F              @X0BFull Screen Editor.  To use the Full Screen Editor your software
@X0F              @X0Bmust be capable of interpreting ANSI cursor position commands.
@X0F              @X0BThe default answer to the question will be NO if the system did
@X0F              @X0Bnot detect ANSI on your end or if you are in novice mode.

@X0FAddressing
@X0Fthe Message:  @X0BThen you will be prompted to enter the name of the person the
@X0F              @X0Bmessage is being addressed to.  If the system operator has
@X0F              @X0Benabled message name verification on this system, the name
@X0F              @X0Bentered will be checked against all names in the user's file to
@X0F              @X0Binsure a proper match.  If the user's name is not found, or the
@X0F              @X0Buser is not registered in the same conference or board area where
@X0F              @X0Bthe message is being left, you will be advised of such to avoid
@X0F              @X0Bleaving a message to a non-existent individual.  However, a
@X0F              @X0BSOUNDEX search to locate a name that sounds like what you entered
@X0F              @X0Bcan be performed or you can override the verification and answer
@X0F              @X0C(C)@X0B to continue and use the name that you have entered which
@X0F              @X0Bmight be done to facilitate leaving a message to a group of
@X0F              @X0Bpeople.  By not entering a username at the "To:" prompt, it will
@X0F              @X0Bautomatically address the message to "ALL".

@X0F              @X0BBrackets will be displayed either above the line or surrounding
@X0F              @X0Bthe area on the screen in which you are allowed to enter text.

@X0FEntering a
@X0FSubject:      @X0BNext, up to a 25 character subject must be entered.  If no
@X0F              @X0Bsubject is entered you will be returned to the main menu
@X0F              @X0Band command line prompt.

@X0FMessage
@X0FSecurity:     @X0BA security prompt will next appear looking something like this:

@X0F              @X0B   @X0ESecurity:  @X0C(G)@X0Eroup, @X0C(R)@X0Eeceiver, @X0C(S)@X0Eender, @X0C(H)@X0Eelp, @X0C(N)@X0Eone

@X0F              @X0B   @X0C(N)@X0Bone means that the message will be open for all to read.

@X0F              @X0B   @X0C(G)@X0Broup allows assigning a password to the message which
@X0F             @X0B       only other callers who know the common password will be
@X0F             @X0B       allowed to read the message.

@X0F             @X0B    @X0C(R)@X0Beceiver makes the message private to all except you - the
@X0F             @X0B    @X0C   @X0Bperson leaving it - and the person to whom it is addressed.

@X0F             @X0B    @X0C(S)@X0Bender allows you to assign a password to the message so
@X0F             @X0B       that only you can kill it later.  This prevents the other
@X0F             @X0B       person to whom the message is addressed from killing it.

@X0F             @X0B Note that you can NOT assign @X0C(R)@X0Beceiver protection to a message
@X0F             @X0B which has been addressed to ALL.

@X0FAll Messages
@X0FPrivate?     @X0B A message base can be set up such that all messages are initial
@X0F             @X0B flagged as private.  In this case the above security prompt is
@X0F             @X0B skipped and the message will be saved using @X0C(R)@X0Beceiver security
@X0F             @X0B so that only you and the person to whom the message is addressed
@X0F             @X0B can read it.

@X0FEntering a
@X0FMessage:     @X0B After completing the above steps, you can enter your text.  Each
@X0F             @X0B line you enter will be preceeded by it's line number.  Up to 72
@X0F             @X0B characters per line is allowed.  Typing beyond the 72 character
@X0F              @X0Blimit will cause your text to automatically "word-wrap" down to
@X0F              @X0Bthe next line.

@X0FExiting the
@X0FEditor:       @X0BThere are two modes in which text can be entered which you will
@X0F              @X0Bhave already chosen by the time you get to the editor.  One of
@X0F              @X0Bthem is the Line Editor mode where only one line at a time can
@X0F              @X0Bbe entered or edited and the other is Full Screen Editor mode
@X0F              @X0Bin which the entire screen is used as the workspace for message
@X0F              @X0Bentry.

@X0F              @X0BTo exit the Line Editor, press @X0C(Enter)@X0B alone on a blank line.
@X0F              @X0BTo exit the Full Screen Editor, press @X0C(ESC)@X0B or @X0C(Ctrl-U)@X0B.

@X0F              @X0BAfter you exit the Line Editor or the Full Screen Editor you will
@X0F              @X0Bbe prompted for message completion subcommands as described

@X0F              @X0BNote: The format to @X0C(E)@X0Bdit a line of text is:

@X0F                  old text;new text

@X0F              @X0Bwhere the "old text" is the text you wish to replace, followed by
@X0F              @X0Ba ";" followed by the new text.  The old text search is case
@X0F              @X0Bsensitive - so capital letters must match exactly.  If your new
@X0F              @X0Btext causes that line to exceed 72 characters, the characters
@X0F              @X0Bbeyond 72 will be truncated from the line.

@X0BWhen "uploading" Ascii text to the message base, insure your text lines are 72
@X0Bcharacters or less in length.

@X0BNote:  while in the full screen editor you can press CTRL-Z to get help on the
@X0Bediting keys available in the full screen editor.
